Local Area

We are on the edge of the Afan Valley and only 3 miles from Afan Forest Park which offers some of the most demanding, but rewarding, riding in the UK across over 130km of mountain bike trails. The old railway line that once carried passengers and coal the length of the valley is now a gentle cycleway. There’s also a number of waymarked walking trails, some that offer spectacular valley views and others that pass by abandoned mines, former tramways and disused railways.

Afan Forest Park has two visitor centres; Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre in Cynonville and the Mountain Bike Centre in Glyncorrwg. Both have excellent facilities for families, walkers and cyclists including café’s, car parking, bike shops and public conveniences.

For more details see: Afan Forest Park

Cwmavon village has a choice of pubs and restaurants and a few takeaways which will deliver. More choice is available in nearby Port Talbot and Neath town centres.

Aberavon beach, which has a spacious sandy coastline and dunes, is only 4 miles away.  A couple of restaurants and cafes are situated along the front, as well as a splash park and surf school. Lifeguards patrol the beach during the summer making it a safe family area.
